The Environment Industry Skills Council (Environment ISC) is an HRD governance where major institutions, organizations, companies, experts, and workers in the environmental field work together for better jobs. The representative organization is the Korea Waterworks and Sewerage Association, and every year, it selects a field in the green industry and directly surveys the workforce in the field to refine their duties and qualifications. Green Jari is Environment ISC's online communication platform that delivers the results to job seekers, workers, and people majoring in related fields.
BlueCanvas now manages Green Jari. In July of this year, we sent out four main screen design proposals so that you could view them before setting the budget, and in October, we created two design proposals, GREEN HORIZON and GREEN CYCLE, that you can actually scroll through. This page is a record of the process I went through while preparing two proposals.
FOUR QUESTIONS
The current main screen is structured to contain inspections, reports, and job information all on one page. There is a lot of information contained, but there is no set order in which the information will be encountered.
Nowadays, the first screen is dominated by a handwritten slogan and an introductory paragraph. The two design proposals talk about the environment and people together in one sentence on the first screen.
Currently, the green industry field does not appear on the main screen. Proposal A shows the four fields as horizontal cards, and Proposal B shows the seven fields studied using the seven colors of the logo.
Proposal A included a filter to share green reports and green stories, and Proposal B created a bookshelf with twelve recent reports rotating in a circle.
Proposal A changes the four tests to questions such as “What job am I confident in?”, and Proposal B places a “Start career test” button on the first screen and shows the time it takes for each test with a dial.
Before constructing a new sentence, I re-read the slogan handwritten on the first screen. The platform name Green Jari and the slogan share the same word, and each word has two layers of meaning.
Green Jari is the name of the online communication platform operated by Environment ISC. The site logo image has the caption “Environment Industry Skills Council - Green Position.”
If you open the main screen now, you will first see a handwritten sentence “Green for all, jobs for all” above a picture of a globe. The green and spot in the platform name appear again in this sentence.
The word green in this sentence is Green, which means green, and is also the word “green,” which is a conjugation of “draw.” So, the seat drawn for everyone is a green seat, and it means that it is a seat drawn for everyone.
A seat is a place for work, but it is also a place for many people to sit together. Environment ISC is a governance system where institutions, organizations, companies, experts, and workers come together to discuss better jobs.
In July's picture design proposal, this sentence was changed to "Green for everyone," and green was read only as the name of the color. October's Proposal B returned to the original sentence "Green for all." This is because these one letters, hae and han, turn green into a verb again.
Proposal A, GREEN HORIZON, opens with “The Earth’s tomorrow is your work.” Proposal B, GREEN CYCLE, opens with “People’s work is in every drop of clean water.” Both sentences start with the environment and stop with the person's "work."
The Environment ISC logo has seven people standing around. In addition, there are a total of seven green industry focus areas that Environment ISC has selected and directly investigated each year from 2022 to 2025. As you scroll down, each person will see the areas they have researched each year.
The Environment ISC logo shows seven people standing in a circle. Each person has a different color, but orange is used by two people, so there are six colors: orange, purple, cyan, red, purple, and green.

#F39816Orange × 2#BB0B70Frequently#569EA9Cyan#E00601Red#543C90Purple#6FA41EGreenEvery year, Environment ISC selects one field of the green industry and directly investigates industrial sites. The first field in 2022 was resource circulation.
resource circulationResource CirculationIt is about collecting and selecting discarded resources and returning them to use again. In 2023, we investigated the climate and atmosphere field by measuring air quality and reducing greenhouse gases.
climate atmosphereClimate & AirThe goal is to inventory and manage air quality and help reduce greenhouse gases and achieve carbon neutrality. In 2024, four areas were investigated in one year: soil and groundwater, natural environment, environmental safety and health, and environmental services.
Soil and groundwaterSoil & GroundwaterIt involves investigating and purifying contaminated land and groundwater.
natural environmentNatural EnvironmentIt is about investigating the ecosystem and restoring damaged nature.
Environment Safety and HealthSafety & HealthIt is about protecting the health of workers and residents by managing chemicals and harmful factors.
environmental serviceEnvironmental ServicesThe job is to help development projects harmonize with the environment through measurement and analysis, environmental impact assessment, and consulting. In 2025, we investigated the water sector, which includes water management, water supply, and sewerage. The number of fields covered over four years was exactly seven, matching the seven people in the logo.
waterWaterThis involves operating water purification and sewage treatment facilities at water management, water supply, and sewerage sites and developing water convergence technology.Proposal B did not miss this coincidence. The six colors of the logo were refined to fit the screen, and the orange that the two people used was divided into yellow, giving one color to each of the seven areas.
#F2B13A#2AA8A0#CF3A2A#6F52C4#6CB33F#F08A1C#BD2A7EThe 42 volumes of the Green Report, which can now be downloaded from the main screen, are divided by publication year and type. The inner ring is 2020, and the outer rings are more recent. Each dot is one report.
20202020 Environmental Industry Human Resources Status Report

THE OUTERMOST RING · 2025
From July to August 2025, Environment ISC directly surveyed 362 of 1,353 water sector businesses. Proposal B moved the five numbers from this survey to the main screen. One hundred dots are one hundred businesses.
More than eight out of ten water industry workers work full-time.
This is the percentage who responded that national technical qualifications are necessary for jobs in the water field.
This is the percentage of respondents who said that experience in related work is important when hiring.
The most common change in the job was the ability to use new technologies and tools.
Less than one in four businesses responded that education and training support was smooth.

People with different purposes come to Green Jari, from students and job seekers considering their career path to researchers looking for reports. Since each person visiting had different information they wanted to check, we first decided which scene each person would arrive at.
I am looking for a work and career psychological test in the environmental field that is right for me.

In both design proposals, the story of Environment ISC and the field of green industry are placed first in the first sentence, followed by the career path, report, and news. The colored dots tell the story each scene tells.

The two designs chose colors in opposite directions from the same logo. Proposal A put down the various colors of the logo and painted the screen with the green of the forest and paper. Proposal B utilized the colors of the logo and used them as name tags for seven green industry sectors.

Proposal A reminded me of a workbench facing the morning forest. On a piece of paper, I laid out a topographical map depicting the river's stones, moss, sprouted seeds, and the river's course.
Proposal B reminded me of a dark laboratory bench. A glass plate filled with water, seven colored discs, and a lime green ring were placed on the ink-colored plate. You can compare the two materials by dragging the center line left or right.

Clicking on a color swatch will copy the HEX value. The number in the sample is the brightness contrast with the color of the text above it, and the ratio is a value calculated by counting the pixels closest to each color in scene captures in the two designs.
In Proposal A, both the title and body were written in one pretendard. The title has a thickness of 600 and the letter spacing has been narrowed to -0.055em so that it can be read clearly even on a forest photo.
Proposal B used Pretendard for Korean and Archivo, a variable font that can change width, for English letters and numbers. Like field names, long English letters are adjusted to be narrow, and short numbers are adjusted to be wide. Moving the bar below changes the width of Archivo.

The Korean title is Pretendard 750, letter spacing -0.035em.
The movement in A follows the speed at which small things grow, and the movement in B follows the speed at which water spreads. In both designs, scrolling drives the movement, and if you turn on reduced motion in the operating system, only the last scene is shown. The four cards below actually move along the scroll.

“Seed of Possibility” in Proposal A is an 8-second three-dimensional motion consisting of 240 images. Scroll down to go forward, scroll up to go back. This card draws the same scene with the same code.
Proposal A changes vertical scrolling to horizontal movement and shows four cards in order: water environment, resource circulation, atmosphere/climate, and ecology/environmental restoration. Four of these cards are also passed sideways along the scroll.

The first scene in Proposal B draws 128 frames according to the scroll position. While passing this card, 48 of them are passed in the same way.
In Proposal B, when moving from a dark scene to a career psychological test, a bright background fills the screen like a circle spreading in water. The circle on this card also spreads along the scroll.
It starts from the horizon where forests and rivers spread out and narrows down to one person's path. The forest and river on the first screen approach along the scroll, and the 8-second three-dimensional motion “Seed of Possibility” rotates back and forth in time with the scroll, opening three scenes of discovery, growth, and connection. The four areas of the environmental industry were rewritten as horizontal cards, and the four career psychology tests were rewritten as questions.
Among the scenes in Proposal A, I chose a moment that I put a lot of effort into directing. Click on the photo to see a larger view of each scene.
This is the first screen showing a river flowing through the forest. By underlining only the word “work” in lime green, the environment and work are included in one sentence.
As you scroll, the forest and river slowly approach, and the title fades out to give way to the next scene.
It is an 8-second motion in which a sphere overlapping like a contour line follows the scroll. A small dot of light moves along an orbit.
The sentence changes three times in the same motion, and the bar below fills up from 01 discovery to 03 connection.
The four areas of the environmental industry are shown as cards that flip horizontally. The first card is the water environment.
After the last card, YOUR POTENTIAL · OUR PLANET · YOUR FUTURE flows in a lime green band.
The four career psychological tests were changed to questions such as “What kind of work am I confident in?” and the test time and number of questions were written down.
Instead of copying the report cover as is, I redrawn it with sentences and numbers. Let’s divide it into overall, green report, and green story.
GREEN HORIZONPassing the horizon
GREEN CYCLETurns around again along the waterway
This direction starts from a drop of water and expands to the entire green industry. The first screen is a scrolling film that takes 128 frames to show the water droplets on the tip of the leaf becoming a river and reaching the circular settling basin at the water purification plant. Next, the slogan "Green for all, jobs for all", the seven people's wheel, seven green industries, the number of the 2025 water industry survey, and the four things that Environment ISC does are listed in order.
Among the scenes in Proposal B, I chose a moment that I put a lot of effort into directing. Click on the photo to see a larger view of each scene.
The first screen starts with water droplets forming on the tip of a leaf. The river and forest are reflected upside down in the water droplets.
The water droplets become rivers and reach the circular settling basin of the water purification plant. The message “Environment ISC is designed so that work and people grow together” appears on the screen.
We have taken the slogan from the first screen as is and redrawn the seven people in the logo next to it to resemble a wheel.
We gave out a logo color to each field and wrote the year we researched that field in depth under the card.
Five numbers in the 2025 Water Industry Survey will change one after another. Only 23.2% responded that education and training support was smooth.
The four tasks - investigation, job, qualification, and communication - are stacked one on top of the other, and each card has a report cover for that task.
After the dark scene ends, a bright background spreads in a circle and the career psychological test begins. The time it takes for each test is displayed on a dial.
The twelve most recent reports rotate in a circle, and the titles and download buttons of the previous reports change below.
In July, we sent four main screen design drawings for you to view before deciding on a budget. All four were design proposals that kept the order of the current main screen almost the same and changed only the first screen and color.
In October, we reorganized the order. We created two design proposals that could actually be viewed by scrolling instead of drawings, and created a new scene to match what the first screen says.
01 · JulyGreen for all, jobs for allI placed a picture of a globe on a cream-colored background and painted the test card with pastel.
02 · JulyGreen for all, jobs for allThe first screen with the same composition has been changed to a green gradient.
03 · JulyGreen jobs where people and nature grow togetherThis is a design proposal with the first screen aligned in the center and a mint background.
04 · JulyWe will create better green jobs togetherThis is a design proposal that places the latest report card on the right side of the first screen.
Proposal A created a screen with three photos and one motion. The first screen overlooking the forest and river, the wind turbine on the beach hill, and the researcher collecting water from the wetland are cards in the fields of water environment, atmosphere/climate, and ecology, respectively. 「Seeds of Possibility」 takes on the potential of people among these photos.

For Proposal B, I first drew four scenes: a water drop, a river and city, a water purification plant, and a sedimentation pond seen from above. I composed the composition so that the end of the previous scene coincided with the beginning of the next scene and made it into one film. We also created field photos for each of the seven fields, one for each field.

Water2025This is a film that connects water droplets from becoming a river to reaching a settling basin at a water purification plant. In the design, the film is flipped back and forth according to the scroll position.
It is a motion in which overlapping spheres rotate like contour lines and light points pass by in orbit. Within the design, it moves back and forth along the scroll.
Career psychological tests and recruitment information are often checked through mobile phones. Proposal A re-arranged the first screen photo on mobile to the vertical ratio, and stacked the four areas that had been flipped horizontally into vertical cards. In Proposal B, the film was made separately with a frame dedicated to the vertical screen, and each of the seven fields was turned one sheet at a time to fit the width of the screen.

The two designs contain the same content, but what they say on the first screen is different. Proposal A narrows it down to one person's career path from the forest horizon, while Proposal B expands from a drop of water to the entire green industry. Green Jari has organized the differences so you can choose based on the story you want to tell first on the first screen.
