Frequently asked questions

Is BLUE MUSIC really free? Does it show ads?add

Yes. It is completely free, with no ads, tracking or bundled software. The installer does not add any unrelated programs.

Does it support streaming services such as Spotify?add

No. BLUE MUSIC is a local player for music files stored on your PC. It does not include accounts, streaming or cloud sync, which helps keep it fast and lightweight.

Which audio files can it play?add

MP3, M4A, AAC, WAV, WMA and WebM are supported by default. Other formats such as FLAC play when the corresponding Windows codec is installed.

Do the playback buttons on my keyboard work?add

Yes. BLUE MUSIC supports keyboard media keys for play/pause, next and previous, along with Windows taskbar and lock-screen media controls through SMTC. When the app window has focus, the spacebar also plays or pauses.

Do I need to install .NET separately?add

No. The installer includes the .NET runtime required to run the app, so there is nothing else to install. This is why the installer is about 74 MB.

Is it safe, and does it collect personal information?add

BLUE MUSIC runs locally and does not collect or send personal information. You can remove it cleanly from “Uninstall a program” in Control Panel.
