Take a look at the website — Industry · 001 manufacturing B2B website Diagnosis

I reopened 37 manufacturing websites.

What is missing from the manufacturing website on the first screen?

Purchasing people are missing what they are looking for. As a result of directly checking the first screen of 37 places, there were recruitment guides in 21 places, but 2 places had the word “quotation”, 3 places where you could click to make a call, and 6 places where you could receive specifications as a file.

Key takeaways

  • Manufacturing website 37 placesI opened the first screen and counted it. There are 21 recruitment guides, but only 2 have the word quote.
  • There were 28 inquiry menus, but there were only 3 places where you could click to make a call.
  • There were 6 places where you could receive specifications as files, and 8 places where structured data was included.

Let me first tell you how I counted it.

I did not cite anyone else's research. This value was calculated by direct access on August 28, 2026.

  • BlueCanvas review archiveOf the 2,595 cases, we selected 639 sites whose target site addresses remained.
  • After classifying them into manufacturing and industry using keywords in the body of the review, we removed duplicate domains and shell pages with empty content.
  • remainder 37 placesof Just one home screen HTML I saw it. Subpages and elements drawn later with JavaScript are not counted.

So, rather than “This company doesn’t accept quotes,” you should read “I didn’t find that on the first screen.” Individual company names are not included anywhere.

There are 21 places for recruitment information and 2 places for quotes.

This is the biggest difference on the first screen. There were 21 places with recruitment, recruit, or career links. On the other hand, there were two places in the text where the word ‘quote’ was found.

Among the people who open manufacturing websites are job seekers and purchasing managers. The words that purchasing managers were looking for were rarely found on the first screen.

There are 28 inquiry menus, and 3 places you can click to make a call.

Most inquiry menus are available. However, the menu moves to a separate page and fills out the form. There were many places where the phone number was written only in text, so there were only three places where I could call immediately after looking at it on my cell phone.

Purchasing managers want to ask questions when they see the specifications. The movement that leaves the screen and fills the form misses that moment.

There is a picture of the product, but no numbers.

There are 31 places where most of the products are introduced. However, there were 6 places where you could get numbers such as dimensions, materials, and tolerances as files. Photos cannot be used as a basis for judgment. What purchasing managers compare are numbers.

Company information is not visible to machines

Search engines and AI responses look at structured data first when reading a page. This is a sign that records the company name, address, phone number, and items handled in a machine-readable format.

Frequently Asked Questions

Isn’t the sample size of 37 too small?

This is not a representative sample of the entire manufacturing industry. This value is biased because it is a collection of sites classified as manufacturing/industrial among sites whose addresses remain in the review archive. However, what is shown first on the first screen is a pattern that is repeated within the industry, so it can be used as a standard to compare with our company's screen.

Is the dialing link that important?

This is important if a large portion of your viewing is on your phone. If you write down the number only in letters, you will have to memorize it and retype it or copy it. Adding href="tel:" can be done in just a few minutes, but that one step is blocking the way to making an inquiry.

Where should I add structured data first?

Please write your company name, address, phone number, and logo first as Organization and LocalBusiness. If you have a product page, just add the model name and specifications as Product. You can put it in the page head in JSON-LD format and it will not affect the screen display.

If you make the specifications public, won't your competitors take them?

The scope of disclosure can be adjusted. Instead of the entire drawing, it is common to disclose only the main dimensions, materials, and tolerances at the first stage, and receive detailed drawings after leaving an inquiry. If there are no numbers, they are excluded from comparison first.

What is our company's home screen?

BlueCanvas is building a record of opening actual sites and examining their structure and operational status. If you would like to see our site on the same basis, please contact us.
