Quick Start

Connect a drive in three steps

Enter connection details in the dashboard and the server appears immediately as a new drive in Windows File Explorer.

Run as administrator

If Windows Defender displays a warning on first launch, choose “More info” and then “Run anyway.”

Register a connection profile

Provide the server details and drive letter, and Bluemount configures the environment automatically.

Select the checkbox and press “Connect selected.” The new drive appears in File Explorer, while the dashboard shows live status.

  • Idle timeout of at least 10 minutes
  • At least four concurrent connections
  • Passive mode and required firewall ports open
  • Adequate upstream and downstream bandwidth

Limitations and cautions

  • Deleted files bypass the Recycle Bin and are removed from the server immediately
  • Editing one file in several applications can cause conflicts
  • Be mindful of the 260-character Windows path limit
  • Offline work is not supported

Files are deleted directly from the server without passing through the Windows Recycle Bin. Confirm before deleting, maintain a backup policy, and consider read-only mounts for important files.

Where can I find the logs?

Connection-specific logs are stored in the logs folder. Sharing the affected time range with the server operations team can speed up diagnosis.
